Asahikawa Medical University started eye disease screening service for residents using Personal Health Record (PHR) system. In this service, the staff of local government take the residents’ fundus images first. Next, the ophthalmologists do the interpretation of the images and finally provide PHR system with the results of the interpretation. Without choosing time and places, residents can check their results anytime and anywhere using PHR system. In the past one year, 1417 people used the service and 40.6% of the users were found the abnormalities (doubt) of their eyes. Also, 52.5% of the users had the second inspection by local government recommendation. From now on, we aim to improve the rate of the second inspection and consider the complementary services to encourage the residents to use PHR system continuously.
